"Create a special memory of this special time"

It’s nine months you’ll cherish forever, and the beginning of a lifelong bond with your precious little one. Maternity photography provides a permanent memory of this special time in your life and the life of your now-expanding family. Whether it’s a simple shoot, fun “family” portraits or a more creative and artistic approach to documenting your pregnancy, maternity photography is becoming more and more popular among expectant moms—and will serve as unparalleled keepsakes for you and your bundle of joy, now and in the future.

Each maternity session is designed to document a journey—your journey—into motherhood, into welcoming a new life and into the ever-evolving story of your family. Sessions tell this story through carefully selected locations (indoor studio portraits, the backyard, the living room or a special spot will do just fine!), incorporate dad, big brother or sister and even the family pet, and, above all else, be stress-free. The end result will be a lifetime of beautiful memories for mother and baby.

"How to prepare for your maternity session"

It's my goal to pamper you and make you feel beautiful and celebrate this amazing journey.  To accomplish this, listed below are some tips to help you prepare for your maternity session.

  • In person, pre-session consults are highly recommended.  Pre-session consults gives you an opportunity to try on gowns and discuss ideas and details prior to your maternity session.

  • Professional hair and makeup is recommended and I collaborate with K Bella Hair Studio and Spa, which is conveniently located right next door to my studio.

  • Moisturize your knees, elbows and belly 1-2 hours before your session to avoid added shine or sticky clothes—and take off any tighter-fitting watches or bracelets then, too, so they don’t leave marks on your skin.

  • Make sure to get a neutral, light-colored manicure 1-2 days prior. You’ll be able to get those beautiful hands-on-belly shots.

  • If you have a few cute baby items—shoes, onesies, hats, blankets, toys—bring them. They’re great props and add a special piece of “baby” before he/she arrives!

  • Same goes for family heirlooms: if you have a special locket, picture or anything else that’s special to your family, bring it along.

  • Ultrasound photos are becoming popular add-ins to shoots. If you’re on the fence, bring it and decide later.

  • We have a collection of maternity gowns and wraps, that you can incorporate into your session.  If your bringing your own clothing, be sure to dress comfortably, and bring clothes that don’t detract from your tummy’s shape and natural glow. Avoid large patterns, bold floral and thick stripes as well as clothes that are too loose. Empire waists, drawstrings, flowy tops and wrap dresses are great choices to enhance your shape.
